The art scene often comes across artists that introduce a new way of expression. Artist Sarah Todd falls under that category without question.

The vibrance of Sarah’s work is something that catches anyone’s attention right away. The artist’s unique form of art is something the art world has never seen before. Her work features a mesh of abstract layers of colors, 24k gold leaf, genuine silver leaf, high gloss resin, and large watercolors.

Most of the unique artist’s inspiration for her work comes from her travels. She looks to the beauty, movements, and energy of nature as motivation for some of her best works. “Not only have my travels inspired a lot of my art, but my collector’s travels have resulted in some pretty magnificent paintings as well,” shares Sarah Todd. “These travel paintings depict the hues and energy of their memories and is a vibrant reminder of that happy moment in time.”

Sarah’s love for art first presented itself when she was young. Her parents encouraged her throughout most of her life when it came to pursuing her passion. She mostly grew up in art classes, where she discovered her natural ability to draw and mix colors in a brilliant way. In 2010, she graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts majoring in Studio Art. She would move on after college to teach at a private elementary school in East Texas for three years.

Later on, Sarah Todd would move to Florence, Italy, to pursue further studies. She completed a master’s degree in Design in 2014, focusing heavily on classical realistic art. Sarah would then come home to Dallas, Texas, to reignite her love for teaching and create a children’s art curriculum at a Texan private school. During this period of her life, she started to move away from realistic drawings and express herself through abstract work. Sarah would experience an epiphany when she would build her signature work: a combination of timeless art techniques with a contemporary edge.

Sarah has joined a variety of art shows and exhibits, including “The Europe Collection” in Hyde Park Village in Tampa, Florida; “The South Africa Collection” in Preston Royal, Dallas, Texas; “The Pearl Collection” in Inwood Village, Dallas, Texas and “The Aspen Collection” in The Interior Dallas; “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend Collection” in DeBord International Gallery, Legacy West Texas; and featured in Gold Mountain Gallery, Telluride Colorado.

Today, the work of Sarah Todd has propagated immensely. Hundreds of her pieces have joined private collections throughout the United States, France, Germany, and Italy. She also has some works in public collections in Hilton Hotel in Hurst, Texas, The AC Hotel in Tampa, Florida, and Oceans Prime in Dallas, Texas.

Sarah’s real goal is to evoke wonder and peace in her viewers through her art. She hopes to spur people’s imagination, encouraging her audience to find what her work means to them personally. The artist is quick to proclaim that art brings her indescribable joy and a sense of peace. She hopes that through her work, she can install the same feeling for others.
