Growing up in the 80s and 90s era, many of you might have listened to many rap songs. After all, those decades have been the golden era of hip hop and rap. In today’s time, the rap music genre continues to be one of the most popular genres, with big names dominating the scene, such as Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar, and many more. Their success became an inspiration for many aspiring young rappers. Chichi The Eternal is no exception. Being a successful rap artist is the dream job of Chichi. Unlike everyone, he is determined and willing to experience the nitty-gritty process of becoming a star.

A rap artist and songwriter, Chichi The Eternal was formerly known as Chichi Amobi. From the very start, he had been passionate about music as a tool for self-expression. Growing up in the small town of Richmond, Virginia, Chichi Amobi invested time, effort, and money to grow his career in the music industry. “I have devoted the last two decades of my life immersing myself in the history and culture of one of the first prominent cities in the south to write tales and verses that are sure to entice a casual listener’s ear,” he said. Simply put, he had been creating songs that everyone can relate to. His deep dedication to his craft is truly undeniable. From writing lyrics to making melodies, Chichi The Eternal made it all possible. Plus, his incredible rap skills are on display every time he practices his art. The transition from verse to verse is smoothly done, and each word is heard clearly.

Although Chichi’s hard work and talents are visible, it does not seem enough to garner the crowd’s attention. In the first few years of rapping, he had a hard time propelling his career in the right direction. “After years of relentless grinding with no significance, a vessel awakened in me that was hibernating for a thousand years.” Until one day, Chichi The Eternal had a moment of realization. He took a more progressive approach in his music by “saving the rapping game from corrupt conglomerates trying to destroy it.” He added a rebellious streak to his lyrics by challenging norms and traditions.

His source of inspiration for his art comes from great artists. For example, he had watched the great plays of William Shakespeare. He had close encounters with the one and only King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Of course, Chichi’s ultimate favorite artist is Lil Wayne for being a literary genius. Aside from that, Chichi The Eternal admires the likes of Thomas Tallis, Beethoven, Tupac Shakur, and Kurt Cobain.

With his new music video called “Choppa or Better,” Chichi hopes to change the landscape of rap for the better. Moreso, he promises to leave a legacy through music to any individual who has a deep affinity with hip hop and rap.
